Giant ants are the movers of the Crystal Grove. Throughout the grove, multiple ant colonies shape the land with their ability to carry immense amounts of weight. It is not unheard of to see entire crystal formations move, or disappear over night. Because of these creatures, any map of the grove is generally inaccurate after only a week’s time.
Clawed Feet
The ants large size has forced them to adapt to their new form. The evolution process was quickened and their feet became clawed, granting them the ability to traverse on vertical surfaces with ease like they could before.
Strong Build
An insect, in normal circumstances, would not be able to carry more than any other creature. The ant, however, has thickened muscles. These muscles cause ants to be able to carry objects that are much heavier as the ant itself.
Eusocial Structure
Ants are eusocial insects, meaning they have a set social structure in their colony. In a colony, there is always one queen, few soldiers and many workers. The ant queen provides eggs, and orders ants around to its whim. The giant ant queen is mildly intelligent, and can be bargained with. The Karthuk tribe have bargained with an ant queen, promising food and defense for the help of many worker ants.
