Round 2
During round 2, Javi will focus on counterspelling enemy spells and dealing damage with either blight or scorching ray (poison). If he ever gets below 25 hit points he will attempt to flee by using invisibility or by riding Maw. He either could flee to the mainland, using dimension door, or head towards his boat. Maw will remain on the offensive unless Javi is below 25 hit points. Maw then offers itself as a ride, dashing towards the exit. Bilzifyr, as a denizen of the lower planes, does not need to escape and will fight to the death. His priority is securing and protecting the eggs in the nursery. Jhigo might attempt to down a weak enemy or attempt to lock its enemies in.
Endgame
Javi’s goal is to remain alive. He prefers to escape over death and leaves most of his research behind if he deems it necessary. He uses Bilzifyr to ensure his escape, as well as Maw as his ride; He can summon the devil back after all. After Javi’s escape, Bilzifyr will attempt to take the eggs and planeshift to the lower planes. Jhigo will try to ensure its master’s escape by locking the door behind Javi
Situation 2
The party stealths inside the ruined lighthouse. To succeed at catching Javi off-guard, the party must succeed on a DC
15 stealth check while avoiding the alarm spell on the end of the bridge. The front door is unlocked, but while passing through, it forces every creature to reroll their stealth check. Secondly, they must not trigger the trap in the trapped hallway or use force to pass the locked doors. Thirdly, they must not go through Javi’s backpack, as they can be spotted by Maw (and Bilzifyr if it is night) if they pass through unobstructed view.
Jhigo’s Task
Jhigo secretly locks or unlocks the doors or pulls levers. In combat, he prefers to remain hidden and provide its allieswith passage through the lair.

Round 3
Javi will cast stinking cloud at the backline of the party as most of his allies are immune to its effect. Maw engages the enemy closest to Javi, attempting to interfere with any that attack him. Bilzifyr will engage enemies within the stinking cloud, attempting to apply the burned condition to as many enemies as possible. Bilzifyr will not use his breath heatcloud if he will hit Maw. Lastly, the imp Jhigo will remain invisible, stealthily unlocking the doors from javi’s workplace to the entrance (if they are locked), providing him a quick escape.
Stealth and Encounters
When the players get the drop on an enemy, the encounter is immediately much easier than the original challenge rating might indicate. A stealthy 6th level party could feasibly beat Javi before he can summon Bilzifyr.

Javi’s Reaction
